Excessive or unsightly facial and body hair can be embarrassing, annoying and uncomfortable for men and women, as well as being inconvenient and a constant battle to remove.
Enjoy the freedom.
There are many methods of hair removal though most are messy, temporary, and often cause ingrown hairs or result in folliculitis. A condition where the hair follicles become inflamed. It’s usually caused by a bacterial or fungal infection. At first it may look like small red bumps or white-headed pimples around hair follicles — the tiny pockets from which each hair grows. The infection can spread and turn into non-healing, crusty sores.
WHAT IS INTENSED PULSED LIGHT (IPL) PERMANENT HAIR REDUCTION?
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) and LASER treatments use specific wavelengths of light to permanently reduce unwanted facial and body hair and are the safest, fastest, most effective method when combined with the right equipment and provider. Each pulse of light usually feels like a hot elastic band snapping on your skin. This is due to the light converting to heat in the targeted cells. Thankfully the advanced technology of our Ultra Lux V4 & Spectrum 2000 pre skin cooling systems ensures your comfort.

IPL VERSUS LASER FOR PERMANENT HAIR REDUCTION… WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE?
Lasers and IPLs are both ‘light based‘ treatments however they have different light characteristics. IPL delivers a broad spectrum of light made up of many different wavelengths, whereas laser emits only one wavelength of light. Some lasers may only be able to be used for one purpose such as hair reduction; whereas IPLs are multi-functional in that one machine can treat surface blood vessels, benign pigmented lesions and permanently reduce hair. Lasers can treat these conditions and more but usually require you to own more than one machine.
There is always some controversy about whether laser or IPL is more effective at permanent hair reduction. Generally speaking those who use laser will say lasers are better and those who use IPL will say IPLs are better however this is just anecdotal evidence. Studies confirm that both achieve similar efficacy.
The question you have to ask yourself is not which technology is better, but what qualification/s does the operator have. This is also very important when considering the price paid for a treatment. We say “You’re not just buying a treatment…you’re buying expertise.” When it comes to these treatments it is very important to ensure you are being treated by a fully qualified technician. To avoid complications, always ask what qualifications your therapist has before commencing any treatment. Such qualifications should also be on display in the clinic. Rest assured Michelle is a Registered Nurse, and is a IPL/Laser Safety Officer & our technicians; Kirsty, Cynthia, Emma & Abby have all completed laser & IPL safety certificates.
